Lyle brings over nine years of experience in the air quality field and is passionate about educating residents, businesses, local governments, and organizations on ways to improve air quality. He graduated from Texas State University with a BS in Geography – Urban and Regional Planning. Lyle started his journey with AACOG as an intern in 2015, where he helped update the regional Ozone Conceptual Model. Today, Lyle focuses on the education and outreach side of air quality planning. He also oversees the Alamo Area Clean Cities Coalition, which is part of a national network dedicated to the adoption of alternative fuels in transportation, as well as the Alamo Regional PACE Program, which promotes low-cost, long-term financing for energy efficiency and water conservation projects for commercial properties in eligible cities and counties across the region
Dr. Den joined Texas A&M University-San Antonio in the fall of 2018 and has since served as the Program Coordinator for the Water Resources Science and Technology degree programs. Prior to joining A&M-SA, he was a faculty member at Tunghai University in Taiwan for 15 years. His research spans a range of water and wastewater treatment technologies, water reclamation and management, and industrial air pollution control processes. His teaching includes water and wastewater treatment, desalination technologies, and sustainable industrial water uses. Dr. Den is an active member of several professional societies, including the American Chemical Society (Environmental Chemistry division) and the American Water Works Association.
Dr. Den received his doctoral and master’s degrees in civil and environmental engineering from the University of Southern California. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
